Each spring, Congressman Chris Van Hollen and the United States House of Representatives sponsor an art competition for high school students. The winning entry from Maryland’s Eighth Congressional District will be displayed in the United States Capitol alongside artwork from every congressional district in the country. The runners-up will be displayed in Congressman Van Hollen’s offices.
All high school students who reside in or attend school in the Eighth Congressional District are encouraged to participate. Entry forms need to be submitted to the Congressman’s office by Friday, March 25, 2011.
A juried exhibition of approximately 90 pieces of the submitted artwork will be on display at VisArts at Rockville from April 6 – May 4, 2011.
