Glove Box/Dry Box Equipment
The glove box show contains an argon atmosphere that is purified to less than 1 ppm oxygen and water. It is primarily used for welding of air sensitive metals using Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding, for example, zirconium. Samples up to 4 feet in length and can be passed through the airlock. The glove box can also be used for other air sensitive work. MPC uses several dedicated glove box systems for:
- Welding air sensitive metals.
- Storage and processing of high purity rare earth metals and calcium.
- Storage and processing of atomized metal powders.
