If you are interested in taking a tour of the White House or Capitol Building please complete the Tour Request Form and send to Katelynn Anderson by email at Katelynn.Anderson@mail.house.gov or by fax at 202-225-8671. Please be prepared with the dates you are planning to visit Washington, D.C. and the number of people in your group. All tickets are provided to my constituents on a first-come, first-served basis and due to the large number of visitors from the 43rd District of California, we recommend you submit your tour request as soon as possible.

White House

The White House tour is an opportunity to visit the home of the President of the United States of America. Groups visit various reception rooms in the East Wing, including the State Dining Room. Tours MUST be scheduled in advance because there are no same-day tickets available.  Tours must be requested at least 30 days in advance, but due to the high volume of requests, we recommend scheduling your tour 3-6 months in advance.

All tours are self-guided and are available from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Fridays, and 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturdays (excluding federal holidays).

Visitors are also encouraged to stop by the White House Visitor Center, which requires no reservations. The Center features exhibits on many aspects of the White House, including its architecture, furnishings, first families, social events, and relations with the press and world leaders.

Capitol Tours

The U.S. Capitol Building is the geographical center of Washington D.C.’s four quadrants.  Built in 1793, the United States Capitol Building has been a symbol of democracy for more than two centuries. The building has been rebuilt, extended, and restored many times. The most recent addition to the Capitol Building is the Capitol Visitor’s Center (CVC), which employs an educated staff dedicated to teaching visitors about the history of our Capitol Building.

Constituents that reserve tours through our office will have access to gallery passes, which allow entry into the Senate and House of Representatives Chambers. The free-guided tours run every ten minutes, with the first tour starting at 8:50 a.m. and the last tour starting at 3:20 p.m. Tours can be reserved up to 150 days in advance, and it is recommended that you book your tour as early as possible. A limited number of same-day tickets are usually available.

For further information on additional tours, please look to my Visitor’s Guide, which outlines tour times and locations for popular sites in Washington, D.C. and the surrounding areas.  I hope you will take the time to stop by my office during your visit. Please reach out to my office, and we will be happy to assist you in requesting tours in D.C.
