11/19/2010 - RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) -- The Air Force Selection Board Secretariat and its staff will be moving to a new building here between November and January 2011.

The move will affect all officers and senior NCOs visiting to review their selection records, as well as future promotion board members.

"We want to make sure our customers have a chance to plan accordingly while we move to our new location," said Maj. Brian Batson, a recorder for the Air Force Selection Board Secretariat. "Although it should be a seamless move, there will be a couple of days Airmen will not be able to physically view their records."

The move involves several phases, with the first being the relocation of senior NCO records beginning as early as Nov. 30. This will ensure all new documents received are filed and customer requests for copies of promotion records are processed well in advance of the senior master sergeant selection board convening Jan. 31.

Officer selection records will move in phases throughout the month of December.

Promotion boards convening Jan. 1 or later will be held at the new location. Board members are asked to review welcome information carefully for updated reporting instructions.

Airmen will still be able to request an electronic copy of their selection folder. For more information about requesting an electronic copy, visit the AFPC personnel services website at https://gum.afpc.randolph.af.mil and select promotion link under the officer or enlisted tabs.

"We will work with our customers during this period to ensure they have as much access as possible," Major Batson said. "We will limit the impact to the customer as much as we possibly can."

Board members and customers should check for move updates on the AFPC personnel services website. For more information about promotions, go to the AFPC personnel services website or call the Air Force Selection Board Secretariat customer service professionals at 210-565-2998.
