Get Ready for the 119th Annual International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference

This year, the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) will host our 119th Annual IACP Conference and Law Enforcement Education and Technology Expo in San Diego. This year’s conference is another outstanding opportunity to learn, problem solve, and collaborate on pressing law enforcement community issues.

While the conference provides an opportunity for personal, peer-to-peer networking and information sharing, it also sets the stage for discussing the tough issues that your agency may face in information sharing and public safety. For years, the IACP has worked with mission partners like the office of the PM-ISE to educate law enforcement agencies about responsible information sharing and address complex information sharing issues in order to identify and prevent terrorist and criminal threats.

Importantly, we have included a technology and information sharing track in the IACP 2012 conference agenda. We encourage attendees to participate in these sessions and to have more honest and open conversation about information sharing challenges and opportunities offered by participating in the ISE.

Every year this conference brings together leaders for a continuing exchange of information – and in law enforcement, your success and safety depend greatly on what you know. On behalf of the IACP and the PM-ISE, I hope you’ll join us for the continuing conversation on the importance and practice of responsible information sharing.
