Employment at NATO International Staff

Interim Staff

The NATO International Staff (IS) is expanding its database of potential candidates who can be called upon for short-term assignments as temporary staff at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

Applicants must be nationals of a NATO member state, with skills in a relevant discipline, and proficiency in English or French (preferably with a good knowledge of the other language).

We are particularly interested in applications from persons with backgrounds in areas such as diplomacy, policy development, management, public affairs, project management, IT, secretarial and administrative support, and technical and maintenance work, who are already located in Brussels and hold a security clearance.

Assignments can also be on an occasional basis (e.g. a few hours per week or only in certain periods when required).

To apply, download and complete the application form (Word/356Kb) and e-mail it, together with an up-to-date curriculum vitae, to interimstaff@hq.nato.int.

Please note that in doing so you are not applying for a particular assignment.  You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt of your application. Your details will then be held in the database (only for temporary assignments) and you will be contacted if a suitable opening arises.

N.B. The NATO IS Recruitment Service is not in a position to answer queries about temporary appointments.  Any questions on this subject should be sent to the e-mail address above.

It is a condition of employment that before a temporary staff member can be appointed, the Organization must have received a security clearance certificate from the government of the country or countries of which he/she is a national.

In case of receipt of an application from a well qualified candidate who is not securitycleared, the Organization may decide, after consulting the person concerned, to request his/her national authorities to start proceedings to obtain a clearance. This process can take several months.

All data will be handled in accordance with data protection principles.
