Today's Supreme Court decision is an important victory in the fight against discrimination targeted at people with HIV disease and AIDS. I am very pleased the Court affirmed the intent of Congress, when it passed the Americans with Disabilities Act, to prohibit discrimination based on HIV status. No one should be denied health care, housing, or any other service or opportunity based on their HIV status.
The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that HIV-infected individuals are protected from discrimination by the American's with Disabilities Act.
