Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs)

Principal staff assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness) and advisor to the Secretary of Defense and Deputy Secretary of Defense for all DOD health policies, programs, and activities. Exercises authority, direction, and control of several field activities, including the TRICARE Management Activity, the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
