2010 BPA Rate Case

Background
On February 10, 2009, BPA published a notice in the Federal Register of its upcoming BPA rate proceeding to develop power and transmission rates for the two-year period October 2009 through September 2011 (FY 2010-2011). The formal hearing process, which was conducted according to the requirements of 16 U.S.C. Section 839e(i)), provided interested parties with the opportunity to challenge all aspects of BPA's proposal and Draft Record of Decision, and to offer alternative proposals. This formal ratesetting process concluded with the issuance of the Administrator's Final Record of Decision on July 21, 2009. On September 28, 2009, BPA received interim approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to establish new power and transmission rates for FY 2010-2011. The new rates go into effect on October 1, 2009.
