AFN, YouTube to air live presidential debates

AFN is airing the presidential and vice presidential debates live, then repeating each debate twice on the same day on AFN/News, according to an AFN Europe press release.

The first debate will air live Oct. 4, from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. Central European Time (CET). The vice-presidential debate will air live Oct. 12, also from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. CET. The second presidential debate will air live Oct. 17, from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. CET. The third and final presidential Debate will air live Oct. 23 from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. CET.

AFN repeats each debate the same day on AFN|news from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. giving viewers a choice to see the debate live, over lunch, or during prime-time viewing.

Additionally, YouTube will stream the all three presidential debates, and the vice presidential debate, on its Elections Hub, according to TechNewsDaily posting on FoxNews website. Commentary before and after the debate at the University of Denver will be hosted on all YouTube election partner channels such as ABC, Al JazeeraEnglish, BuzzFeed, Univision and the Wall Street Journal, the site reported.

However, streaming YouTube won't be quite as convenient for iPhone users who upgraded to iOS 6 since Apple has removed the YouTube app. Instead, viewers can download Google's YouTube iPhone app for free from the App Store. Apple iPad users will have to be content with enlarging the iPhone display for their devices or by going to YouTube through the Safari browser, which offers a better user interface for pre- and post-debate videos.
