Colonel Kevin G. Cavanagh is Commander, 940th Wing, 10th Air Force, Beale Air Force Base, California. The unit reports directly to the 10th Air Force commander at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base, Fort Worth, Texas. The 940th Wing is recognized as the Air Force model of the total force enterprise, providing in-garrison and in-theater combat support, as well as command and control, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance expertise to warfighters across the spectrum of conflict in support of Air Combat Command, Pacific Air Forces and the Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency.
Colonel Cavanagh is a native of New Jersey and received his commission from the United States Air Force Academy in 1985. He has served in a variety of assignments in the Regular Air Force, the Air National Guard, Air Force Reserves, Air Force Civil Service and Navy Civil Service. His operational experience includes missile warning, satellite operations, systems acquisition, and systems engineering, as well as squadron command, group staff, and MAJCOM staff positions.
