Political Affairs Section
The Political Section is responsible for advising the Ambassador on overall political relations between the United States and Angola. By speaking regularly with the Government of Angola, National Assembly, poiltical parties, and civil society, the political section seek to inform, expand and enhance the bilateral relationship. The political section analyzes internal dynamics, regional trends, and transnational issues. The section keeps the U.S. government informed about various political and social developments in Angola, as well as Angolan foreign policy, and implications for the bilateral relationship.

Economic Affairs Section
The Economic Section works to expand economic ties between the U.S. and Angola, while keeping the U.S. government informed about economic trends and conditions within Angola. The section supports the Ambassador's efforts to help Angola diversify its economy, while increasing the level of U.S exports to Angola, increase transparency and combat corruption. By cultivating contacts within the Government of Angola, and throughout the Angolan business community, the section advises U.S. companies on how best to enter the Angolan market, provides information on available USG assistance, advocates for U.S. companies bidding on government contracts, and helps locate suitable and reliable local partners for U.S. firms by providing fee based services in conjunction with the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service Office in Johannesburg. The Economic Section also assists other USG agencies in their efforts to engage Angola on economic issues and programs.
