Re-employment Benefits

National emergencies can come up quickly. As a member of the Guard, you can be deployed on short notice. It’s good to know that by federal law, you’re assured of being able to come back to your job when you return.

The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) protects your right to be re-employed in the same position upon returning from military service. USERRA applies to all public and private employers in the United States, regardless of size. It also applies in overseas workplaces that are owned or controlled by U.S. employers.

The U.S. Department of Labor's Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) administers and enforces USERRA. You can also get additional details from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an organization that promotes support of employees who serve in the military.

Note: Army National Guard programs and benefits are subject to change. For the latest information, please contact your local recruiter.
