Moderator: The discussion was moderated by Andy Mao, Senior Counsel for Health Care Fraud and Elder Justice, U.S. Department of Justice.
Panelists:
- Kristen Johnson, researcher with the National Council on Crime and Delinquency. She will talk about a risk assessment for elder mistreatment that she is currently developing in New Hampshire that is funded by the National Institute of Justice.
- Rachel Lakin, New Hampshire’s Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services. She will offer a practice and policy perspective: what makes her relationship with the researchers work? How have practices in her agency changed as a result of the research experience? And what should other adult protective services agencies think about before they get involved in a research project?
- Kathleen Quinn, director of the National Adult Protective Services Association. She will offer a national perspective, including guidelines to help state agencies that are thinking about participating in these important research projects.
