As Co-Chief of National Human Genome Research Institute's (NHGRI) Scientific Review Branch, Dr. Pozzatti shares the responsibility of overseeing the review of all grant applications and contract proposals that are assigned to the NHGRI Review Branch. This includes institutional training grants, career development awards and community research resource applications such as model organism databases. The major activity of the NHGRI Scientific Review Branch is to review applications submitted in response to all funding opportunity announcements issued by NHGRI, including the Centers of Excellence in Genomic Science (CEGS) Program and the Large-Scale Production Sequencing Centers funded by NHGRI.

Prior to joining the Scientific Review Branch in 1996, Dr. Pozzatti conducted research at the National Cancer Institute Intramural laboratories in Bethesda, Maryland. His research focused on the regulation of the metastatic phenotype in a rat model system, and studies designed to map genes involved in the development of prostate cancer in humans.

Dr. Pozzatti received his Ph.D. in Animal Virology in 1982 from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
