Job Description

Section Manager Technology Solutions

PURPOSE: Design and develop software applications. Participate in the leadership of the Technology Solutions group by defining and prioritizing group goals. Provide Catalytic Coaching for section members, monitor career progress and oversee day to day activities of section members.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Performs application programming; develops and maintains application software & databases.

 
  • Participates in Technology Solutions Leadership Team to define and prioritize group goals, prepare for future technologies and prioritize staff development.

 
  • Mentors direct reports. Ensures career development goals of direct reports are being met.

 
  • Monitors schedules of direct reports and approves timecards.

 
  • Other duties as assigned: serve in other capacities such as organizational-wide teams, internal ISD process improvement initiatives, and miscellaneous works assignments.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration or related field and a minimum of nine (9) years experience required. Experience in software development required. Experience in web-based database applications required. Must have experience in a leadership role in a software project. Previous management experience is a plus. Must have an understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, particularly for web enabled applications. Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus. Must be proficient developing web applications with Microsoft .NET technologies. Must have experience with relational databases; specifically MS SQL Server. Must also be proficient with Microsoft Windows, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, & SQL. Must be able to work in a in a team environment with good verbal and written skills. Must be able to lead software developers, assist with career planning, perform Catalytic Coaching duties for direct reports and staff development. Support Group Manager in any employee corrective action.
