Atlanta FEB 2012 Leadership Government Class
The Atlanta Federal Executive Board (FEB) held their Full Board Meeting for September on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. It was hosted by the General Services Administration (GSA) in the Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) Federal Building located at 77 Forsyth Street SW, in Atlanta. Among other things, the board honored those who recently completed their 2012 Leadership Government Program. We want to take a moment to congratulate this year's GSA members of that graduating class from the Southeast Sunbelt Region: Amina Brock, Kirsten Neff, and Patrick Queen. The candidates of the rising Class of 2013 were also recognized, including GSA's own Quaison Crosby, Marjorie Forney, and Shanta Harper.
The FEB meeting covered several important topics. GSA’s Regional Administrator Shyam Reddy was the keynote speaker, addressing GSA's Evolutionary Workplace: The Workspace that Works for You! Then the 2012 Government Leadership Graduation Ceremony for all thirty-two graduates from various federal agencies was held. Events for September’s Preparedness Month were then highlighted by the Federal Protective Service, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Weather Service. Accounts were given on the Intergovernmental Collaboration and Community Engagement Council activities and then the FEDS FEED FAMILIES recognition and accomplishments were announced. The 2012 Combined Federal Campaign report was given, after which the new class for the incoming 2013 Leadership Government was revealed. Finally, the meeting concluded with a tour of the Evolutionary Workspace of the Future at the MLK building and an Open House for Telepresence. Following the meeting, all participants were invited to try out the mobile workspace on the 2nd floor, which was well received.
