The Chavez Building is a ten-story, 179,375 square foot facility that adjoins the Golden Triangle neighborhood. Designed by the architectural firm of Murata Outland Associates, Inc., it was constructed in 1984.

This building is undergoing a major facelift. This modernization project will transform the facility into a high-performing green building. Once complete the building is expected to attain Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) silver certification. The project includes construction of a new parking garage that touts a one-of-a-kind rooftop solar sculpture. Photovoltaics on the garage will produce 115 kilowatt-hours of electricity that will offset annual energy consumption by 5 percent and offset hot water energy use by 30 percent.
