HUSB: It’s ten ‘til. We gotta go.
WIFE: Oh, ok. Backpack, lunches.
HUSB: Yup, check.
WIFE: Briefcase. Waffles.
HUSB: Check.
WIFE: Taxes.
HUSB: Uhhh. Taxes?
WIFE: Yes, since we finished them last night., I figured I’d mail them on my lunch hour.
HUSB: Wait! Take them out of the envelope.
WIFE: Honey, the time!
HUSB: Five minutes. Just to make sure we haven’t made any of those common errors I read about on irs.gov. You know, they can really slow things down.
WIFE: Oh? Like what?
HUSB: Well, did we enter both Social Security numbers and signatures?
WIFE: Check, and check.
HUSB: W-2s attached?
WIFE: Check.
HUSB: Does the math add up?
WIFE: Double checked that. Hey, what are you doing with the envelope?
HUSB: You know, I was thinking…let’s e-file our return this year. It’ll get there faster, so we can get our refund faster, especially if we do direct deposit. We’ll go to irs.gov tonight for complete instructions.
WIFE: Ok. Now, to the car, check?
HUSBAND: Ah, keys?
WIFE: Ughh! Lemme check.
