WASHINGTON, Sept. 28, 2012 – Foster Farms, a Demopolis, Ala. , establishment is recalling
approximately 16,576 pounds of corn dog products because of misbranding and an allergen, milk, that is not
declared on the label.
The products subject to recall include:
- 2.67-lb. pound, 16-count packages of "Foster Farms Honey Crunchy Corn Dogs."
The products subject to recall bear the establishment number "P-7322" ink-jetted on each box and a use-by
date of "July 2, 2013", and a time stamp between 06:30 and 08:30. The products were produced on July 2, 2012,
and were shipped to retail stores in the southeast United States. When available, the retail distribution list(s)
will be posted on FSIS' website at: www.fsis.usda.gov/FSIS_Recalls/Open_Federal_Cases/ index.asp.
The problem was discovered as a result of a customer complaint about the product being mislabeled and may have
occurred as a result of the product being placed in the incorrect package. FSIS and the company have received no
reports of allergic reactions to milk due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should
contact a healthcare provider.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall
and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
Consumers with questions about the recall should contact the company's consumer affairs manager, Teresa Lenz, at
(209) 394-6914, ext. 4369. Media with questions about the recall should contact the company's media representative,
Lorna Bush at (510) 759-9528.
