Maj. Gen. Golden, “A Day in the Life Of”
NATO Training Mission Afghanistan is making great strides in our mission to train and advise the Afghan National Police and Army in preparation for the transition of security lead from coalition forces to Afghans. The Afghan National Police has a pivotal role in providing basic security for the people of Afghanistan which will facilitate growth in businesses, schools, government and infrastructure.
A new group of recruits recently started training to be members of the Afghan National Civil Order Police at the Combined Training Compound Kabul. They are being trained by Afghans with oversight by Italian Carabinieri. Combined Training Compound Kabul is just one of the 32 training sites that, combined, have an estimated 8,500 policemen training daily. These young Afghans are the future of the ANP and Afghanistan.
We want to share with you, our viewers, the training that the ANP receives. I invite you to follow our new weekly series, “A Day in the Life of an ANCOP Trainees,” as it takes you through all 14 weeks of ANCOP training. You will see these young Afghan men transform into professional policemen.
