Mayumi Escalante

Supervisory Survey Statistician for Commodity Analysis Branch, Foreign Trade Division

Mayumi Escalante works in the Census Bureau's Foreign Trade Division on commodity analysis and classification. As Classification Area supervisor, she was responsible for coordinating nearly 18,000 Harmonized Tariff Schedule numbers for U.S. imports and 9,000 Schedule B export codes with other domestic and international classification systems. She works to ensure the quality of the trade statistics in her current role as supervisor for the Foods and Textiles commodity sections. Ms. Escalante earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Maryland and a Master's Certificate in Project Management from The George Washington University.
