Administration for Native Americans
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Native Americans promotes the goal of self-sufficiency for Native Americans by providing social and economic development opportunities through financial assistance, training, and technical assistance to eligible Tribes and Native American organizations representing nearly 4.3 million individuals.
The Access Board
Independent federal agency devoted to accessibility for people with disabilities. The Access Board
website includes information on federal guidelines and standards; technical assistance, training
and research; and enforcement. The website also contains Access Board publications and links to
additional resources.
Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD)
The Administration on Developmental Disabilities ensures that individuals with developmental disabilities
and their families participate in the design of and have access to culturally competent services,
supports, and other assistance and opportunities that promotes independence, productivity,
and integration and inclusion into the community.
Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA): Guide for Small Businesses and Other ADA
Information
The U.S. Small Business Administration partnered with the U.S. Department of Justice in developing this 15-page illustrated guide to assist small businesses to understand and comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act. The guide presents an overview of some basic ADA requirements for small businesses, provides guidance on how to make business services accessible, and provides information on tax credits and deductions that may be used to offset specific cost.
National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities
The National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is focused on promoting the health of people who are living with disabilities. The Center's web site is dedicated to describing that work and sharing public health information resources.
Center for Information Law and Policy: The Federal Web Locator
The Federal Web Locator is a service provided by the Center for Information Law and Policy and is intended to be the one stop shopping point for federal government information on the World Wide Web. This list is maintained to bring the cyber citizen to the federal government's doorstep.
Code of Federal Regulations
The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is the codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government.
Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP)
The Department of Defense (DoD) established the CAP to improve accessibility for people with disabilities
throughout the DoD and remove the cost of accommodations. TRICARE, the DoD's military health system
serves as the executive agent for CAP. CAP's mission is to provide assistive technology and
accommodations to ensure people with disabilities have equal access to the information environment
and opportunities in DoD and throughout the Federal government.
GPO Access
GPO Access is a service of the U.S. Government Printing Office that provides free electronic access to a wealth of important information products produced by the Federal Government. The information provided on this site is the official, published version and the information retrieved from GPO Access can be used without restriction, unless specifically noted.
Federal Register Online
The Federal Register is published by the National Archives and Records Administration NARA and is the official daily publication for rules, proposed rules, and notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as executive orders and other presidential documents.
Census Bureau Data on Disability.
The U.S. Census Bureau serves as the leading source of quality data about the nation's people and economy. The Census Bureau provides data on disability based on three primary sources: the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP), the decennial census of population, and the Current Population Survey (CPS).
Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is a Federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Programs for which CMS is responsible include Medicare, Medicaid, State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), HIPAA, and CLIA.
Medicare
Medicare is the national health insurance program, administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, for people age 65 or older, some people under age 65 with disabilities, and people with End-Stage Renal Disease, which is permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant.
Medicaid
Medicaid is a program administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, that pays for medical assistance for certain individuals and families with low incomes and resources. This program is jointly funded by the Federal and State governments (including the District of Columbia and the Territories) to assist States in providing medical long-term care assistance to people who meet certain eligibility criteria.
Legislative Information on the Internet (THOMAS)
The THOMAS web system was created under the leadership of Congress to make Federal legislative information freely available to the Internet public.
Military Health System (TRICARE)
TRICARE is the Department of Defense (DoD) health care program for active duty and retired members of the uniformed services, their families, and survivors. TRICARE also provides health care and accommodations to DoD employees with disabilities.
National Council on Disability (NCD)
The National Council on Disability (NCD) is an independent federal agency making recommendations to the President and Congress on the wide range of issues affecting Americans with disabilities.
Office
of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS)
OSERS is located in the U.S. Department of Education and supports programs that help educate children and youth with disabilities, provides for the rehabilitation of youth and adults with disabilities and supports research to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities.
Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP)
OSEP is located in the U.S. Department of Education and supports programs designed to improve results for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities ages birth through 21 by providing leadership and financial support to assist states and local districts. OSEP also administers the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA)
RSA is located in the U.S. Department of Education and provides national leadership for, and administration and evaluation of, grant programs, service projects and rehabilitation training discretionary grant programs that develop and implement comprehensive and coordinated programs of vocational rehabilitation, supported employment and independent living for individuals with disabilities.
National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR):
This Institute within the U.S. Department of Education conducts comprehensive and coordinated programs of research and related activities to maximize the full inclusion, social integration, employment and independent living of individuals of all ages with disabilities.
ADA Technical Assistance Programs
This website contains links and information to National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research funded grantees who provide information, training, and technical assistance to businesses and agencies with duties and responsibilities under the ADA.

Security Administration (SSA)
The SSA website provides comprehensive information on all of its programs, benefits, and services, including the Supplemental Security Income and the Social Security Disability Insurance disability programs.
SSA Work Site
The SSA Work Site website is maintained by the Social Security Administration's Office of Employment Support Programs (OESP) to provide information on employment support programs and other services to assist beneficiaries in making a successful entry into the workforce. This website also includes comprehensive information on the Ticket to Work Program.
