The U. S. Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) will conduct the 7th Annual Export Control Forum in Irvine, CA, on February 27-28, 2012. This year’s conference will bring you the latest on the progress of the Administration’s Export Control Reform initiative. Under Secretary Eric Hirschhorn will lead the BIS contingent of policy, regulatory and enforcement personnel. The event will also feature representatives from the Departments of State, Defense, and Treasury, as well as the U. S. Census Bureau.

This day-and-a-half conference will give you the opportunity to hear from--and meet with--many of the key people involved in the rapid changes underway in the export control field.  The event includes a reception at the close of the first day, enabling you to interact with the speakers and other attendees in a more relaxed environment.  On the second day, you will have the opportunity to participate in one of two workshops: “Evolving Compliance Challenges Under Export Control Reform,” or “Universities, Foreign Visitors, and Deemed Exports.”

The registration fee for the Forum is $525 (unchanged from recent years), and has been approved for Continuing Legal Education credit by the State of California. There are also limited exhibit opportunities still available for those interested.

For additional information on this and other BIS seminar offerings, please visit the agency’s website at: http://www.bis.doc.gov.
