Successful Small Business Export Strategies Seminar Series

Eight-city "Exports Live" Seminar Series Brings Together Small Businesses
Thrive During Tough Economy

A half day interactive seminar series has been created by six federal
agencies to demonstrate how local businesses can successfully leverage
government export assistance to expand sales of U.S. goods and services
in foreign markets and increase their bottom lines. The first seminar
will kick off at New York City's Marriott Marquis hotel on October 5, 2009.

It will be followed by similar sessions in other cities nationwide:

Boston: October 6, 2009
Miami: October 26, 2009
Houston: October 27, 2009
Detroit: November 9, 2009
Chicago: November 10, 2009
Los Angeles: November 16, 2009
Seattle: November 17, 2009

The eight-city "Exports Live!: Real Deals, Real Profits" seminar series
will review strategies and partnerships used by local small and medium
sized businesses that have already discovered how to increase
profitability through exporting.

Leading these seminars will be the Chairman and President of the Export-
Import Bank, Fred Hochberg.

The following senior government officials will be present at some of the
"Exports Live" events: Secretary of Commerce, Gary Locke; U.S. Trade
Ambassador, Ron Kirk; Small Business Administration Administrator,
Karen Mills; U.S. Trade and Development's acting director, Leocadia Zak;
and Overseas Private Investment Corporation's acting President, Dr.
Lawrence Spinelli.
