Postdeparture Notice

PROPOSED:

Once the Final Rule is published, companies may apply for postdeparture filing status. At the time of publication, companies that are currently approved for postdeparture reporting privileges, who are interested in retaining those privileges, will have to reapply with no exceptions. Only U.S. Principal Parties in Interest (USPPI) can be granted the privilege to report postdeparture. Furthermore, only USPPIs that ship approved commodities (listed below) can be granted the privilege to report postdeparture. Authorized U.S. Agents can not apply for the postdeparture reporting privilege, but can report Electronic Export Information postdeparture on behalf of approved USPPIs.

For a USPPI to be approved for postdeparture reporting, it must meet the revised postdeparture criteria (i.e. reporting history, compliance, ship approved products, etc.) which will be available on the Postdeparture Filing Application (PFA). The PFA is currently under development and will be located at www.cbp.gov.
