Ex-Im Bank History By Month: January

1935: Congress passes the Reconstruction Finance Corporation Act (PL 74-01). Sec. 9 of the act extends the operation of both Ex-Im Banks until June 16, 1937.

1983: Ex-Im Bank’s First Vice President and Vice Chairman Charles E. Lord signs an agreement with Petroleos Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) for the exportation of equipment for two offshore semisubmersible drilling rigs.

2008: Ex-Im Bank advances its Know-Your-Customer Initiative, which adopts guidelines to enhance transparency, combat fraud, and corruption.
