The Secretary of the Air Force/Small Business (SAF/SB) has overall responsibility for directing, managing, measuring and overseeing the execution of the Small Business Programs for the Department of the Air Force (see Headquarters Air Force Mission Directive 1-30).

The Air Force Small Business strategy of "Beyond Goals" pushes past percentages to ensure the Warfighter's access to a comprehensive set of capabilities in support of Air Force priorities. The FY09 Air Force Small Business Strategic Plan, "Beyond Goals," outlines SAF/SB's goals and objectives tied to measurable outcomes to ensure the innovation, agility and efficiency of America’s small businesses are put to work in support of the Air Force mission.

Mission:

The mission of Air Force Small Business is to create and deliver strategies that bring innovative, agile, and efficient small business solutions to the Air Force to fly, fight, and win...in air, space, and cyberspace.

Leadership Spotlight

Ronald A. Poussard, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Director, Office of Small Business Programs. He leads the Small and Minority Business Program and the Historically Black Colleges, Universities & Minority Institutions Program for the Department of the Air Force.
