Department of Defense Memorandum of Understanding 

The Memorandums of Understanding below are between DoD and various partners as part of the Financial Readiness Campaign.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the National Endowment for Financial Education and the Department of Defense, January 25, 2005  This Memorandum establishes a partnership between the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) and the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (DUSD) (Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP)) to allow military installations to use the programs and services of the NEFE as well as partner with local NEFE members to use their programs, services, and materials as part of the DoD Financial Readiness Campaign.

MOU between the InCharge Institute of America, Inc. and the Department of Defense, July 13, 2004  This Memorandum establishes a partnership between the InCharge Institute of America, Inc. and the DUSD (MC&FP) to allow military installations to use the programs, services, and materials of the InCharge Institute as part of the DoD Financial Readiness Campaign.

MOU between the Institute of Consumer Financial Education and the Department of Defense, July 2, 2004  This Memorandum establishes a partnership between the Institute of Consumer Financial Education (ICFE) and DoD for collaboration and support in pursuit of promoting basic financial education for service members and their families through the use of products and services offered by the ICFE.

MOU between the National Military Family Association and the Department of Defense, October 8, 2003  This Memorandum establishes a partnership between the National Military Family Association and DoD to allow military installations to draw upon the NMFA's programs, services, and materials as a resource and as part of the DoD Financial Readiness Campaign.

MOU between the Department of Defense and Freddie Mac, October 3, 2003  This Memorandum establishes a partnership between the DUSD (MC&FP) and Freddie Mac to allow Freddie Mac's Consumer Credit Education Program to be used at military installations.

MOU between the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Defense, June 19, 2003  This Memorandum establishes a partnership between the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and DoD to allow military installations to draw upon the programs, services, and materials of the SEC, to affiliate with regional SEC members, and to draw upon the programs, services, and materials of regional SEC members.

MOU between the Women's Institute for Financial Education and the Department of Defense, June 7, 2003  This Memorandum establishes a partnership between the Women's Institute for Financial Education (WIFE) and the DUSD (MC&FP) to allow military installations to draw upon the programs and services of WIFE as a resource as part of the DoD Financial Readiness Campaign.

MOU between the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy and the Department of Defense, May 29, 2003  This Memorandum establishes a partnership between the Jump$tart Coalition and the DUSD (MC&FP) to allow personnel at military installations to draw upon the programs and services of the Jump$tart Coalition, to affiliate with local Jump$tart Coalition members, and to draw upon those local programs and services.

MOU between the Council of Better Business Bureaus and the Department of Defense, February 20, 2003  This Memorandum establishes the partnership between the Council of Better Business Bureaus (CBBB) and the DUSD (MC&FP) to use the programs and materials of the CBBB and to partner with local Better Business Bureaus to improve the financial literacy of service members and their families.

MOU between the Consumer Federation of America and the Department of Defense, January 6, 2003  This Memorandum establishes the partnership between the Consumer Federation of America and the DUSD (MC&FP) to tailor the nationwide "America Saves" campaign to the military community.

MOU between the Federal Reserve System and the Department of Defense, October 28, 2002  This Memorandum establishes a partnership between the Federal Reserve System and DoD to measure the effectiveness of the financial literacy programs offered by DoD.

MOU between the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Defense, January 19, 2001  This Memorandum addresses the collection and use of complaints from service members and their families through the Military Sentinel system.

MOU between the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Department of Defense  This Memorandum establishes a partnership between the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and DoD to establish the FDIC Money Smart financial education curriculum to educate service members and their families in financial literacy.
