CareerOneStop  This Department of Labor-sponsored website provides career resources and workforce information to job seekers, students, businesses, and workforce professionals to foster talent development in a global economy.  The Key to Career Success campaign connects veterans and transitioning service members with high quality career planning, training, and job search resources available through the One-Stop Career Centers.  This section of the website includes information on credentialing, resume writing, financial resources, disabled/injured resources, and matching military experience to civilian occupations.

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) This website describes the wide variety of VA services, benefits, and special programs with online application forms.  The GI Bill section of the website provides the latest information on education benefits, as well as updates on the new Post 9/11 or Chapter 33 benefits.  The VA website also includes a section specifically for service members returning from Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Helmets to Hardhats  Helmets to Hardhats is a national, nonprofit program that connects National Guard, Reserve, and transitioning active duty military members with quality career training and employment opportunities within the construction industry.

Job Fair Schedule  The Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP) provide an up-to-date listing of job fairs located in the continental United States (CONUS) and outside of the continental United States (OCONUS).  The listing of job fairs provides dates, locations, relevant websites, and points of contact.

Military OneSource  This site provides information and resources to help balance work and family life. Consultants are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week by phone, online, or via email offering personalized support to any service  member, DoD civilian personnel designated as Civilian Expeditionary Workforce, or family member. Military OneSource offers twelve free in-person counseling sessions per person, per issue.  For those unable to attend face-to-face counseling, Military OneSource arranges telephone and online consultations.

Available transition materials include checklists, articles, and tips on the following topics:

• separating from the military
• transition services

To contact Military OneSource by phone, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, call Stateside at 1-800-342-9647. The Military OneSource website lists specific dialing information for other countries. 

O*NETTM OnLine -  O*NET, the Occupational Information Network, is a comprehensive database of occupational skills, knowledge, and abilities that can help align military experience, education, and training curricula with current civilian workplace needs. The Crosswalk Search feature enables transitioning service members to enter or search for a military occupation code and then locate matching civilian job descriptions for use when developing resumes and preparing for job interviews. 

Pre-Discharge website The Pre-Discharge Program is a joint Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) program that affords service members the opportunity to file claims for disability compensation up to 180 days prior to separation or retirement from active duty or full time National Guard or Reserve duty (Titles 10 and 32).

Troops to Teachers This website provides information on a program that helps eligible military personnel begin new careers as teachers.

USA Jobs This is the official job site of the federal government and provides information on a number of topics relevant to veterans including converting military experience and veterans' preference status.

VA Disabled Transition Assistance Program (DTAP)  DTAP provides transition assistance for service members who may be released because of disability or who believe they have a disability qualifying them for vocational rehabilitation and employment-related services.  The website provides information on independent living, self-employment, access to employment, and re-employment. 

Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) This website provides an overview of the VBA organization with mission, vision, and value statements. It contains reference regulations and manuals, links for answers to benefit questions, and the web sites of VA regional offices. The VBA's Benefits Delivery at Discharge (BDD) Program allows a service member to apply for disability compensation benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) prior to retirement or separation from military service.

Veterans' Employment & Training Service (VETS)  VETS provides veterans and transitioning service members with the resources and services to succeed in the civilian workforce by maximizing their employment opportunities and protecting their employment rights.  The website includes information about veterans' preference, the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), and licensing and credentialing requirements.
