Military Spouses - Scholarships

  • National Military Family Association: NMFA operates a scholarship program specifically for military spouses.

  • ThanksUSA: ThanksUSA offers over 1,000 scholarships for military spouses and children totaling over 3.5 million dollars.

  • Financial Aid for Spouses of Service Members: Provides a list of links to numerous scholarships for military spouses and their families.

  • Air Force Aid Society (AFAS): AFAS offers a Spouse Tuition Assistance Program for spouses of active duty Air Force members.

  • Army Emergency Relief (AER): AER provides scholarship programs for military spouses in the United States and overseas.

  • Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS): NMCRS offers multiple scholarship opportunities for spouses of Navy-Marine Corps members.

  • Naval Special Warfare Foundation (NSW) : The NSW offers scholarships to spouses of active members of the Navy.

  •  ROTC Scholarships:

  • FastWeb: Set up a profile on FastWeb to access over a million scholarships and a wealth of additional information on choosing a college, financing your education, and career guidance.

  • Scholarships.com: Create a profile and access scholarships that specifically pertain to you.

  • University of Idaho: The University of Idaho launched Operation Education, a special scholarship program for spouses of wounded veterans.


  • Central Texas College : Central Texas College has developed a new military spouse webpage and is offering a variety of military spouse scholarships.


  • Western Governor's University: This scholarship is available to active-duty, reserve and Guard military personnel and their spouses enrolling in WGU to earn a degree in information technology, business, health professions, or education.


  • Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) Program: For undergraduates with exceptional financial need; Federal Pell Grant recipients take priority; funds depend on availability at school.

  • Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant: For students whose parent or guardian died as a result of military service in Iraq or Afghanistan after 9/11/01, if the student was under 24 years old at the time or enrolled in an institution of higher education at the time of the parent's death. This program is for students who do not qualify for a Federal Pell Grant. Check with your schools Office of Financial Aid for applications.
