CLC 058, “Introduction to Contract Pricing” is a Level I certification requirement and prerequisite to CON 170, Fundamentals of Cost and Price Analysis.  The objective of CLC 058 is to introduce students to the policies and procedures regarding contract pricing, cost accounting standards and contract cost principles; proposal analysis techniques, Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA) requirements, defective pricing, and the importance of documenting contract negotiations.  CLC 058 is intended to be the students’ first exposure to this content and serves as a pricing “primer.”

CLC 025 “Small Business Program for Contracting Officers” is designed to identify the important elements of the DoD Small Business program for defense acquisition.  The course explains the roles and responsibilities of the technical/project/program manager, contracting officer/specialist, and small business specialist as members of the Acquisition Team.  It describes the process and the techniques used to conduct market research and assist in developing acquisition strategies and solicitations to incentivize small business participation.  The course also covers the elements of the Subcontracting Plan and how to evaluate compliance with the Subcontracting Plan.  It explains various teaming arrangements used by small businesses to enhance their capability to compete in defense acquisitions, and identifies ways to mitigate risk during the acquisition process.
