The Multipurpose Marine Cadastre is the result of a collaborative effort among a number of federal agencies, regional planning bodies, state entities, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The project continues to grow and strengthen as a result of such partnerships.

Project Leads
Bureau of Ocean Energy Management
Under Section 388 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, the BOEM was identified as the lead agency for “establish[ing] an Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Mapping Initiative to assist in decision making related to alternate energy uses on the OCS”. As the project lead, the BOEM provides funding, in-kind support, partner and regional coordination, as well as product development and review.
NOAA Coastal Services Center
Serves as the technical lead by providing the staff resources for data development and integration, application development, regional and partner coordination, capacity building, and outreach. CSC also provides a significant amount of in-kind support in project coordination and technical leadership.
