Navigating health insurance can be confusing and at times quite daunting. Older adults are increasingly faced with difficult choices in a number of areas, including Medicare, Medicaid, and payment for prescription medications.
The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is a state program that gets money from the federal government to give free local health insurance counseling, education, and information to individuals with Medicare of all ages. The National Consumer Protection Technical Resource Center
The Center provides general information for consumers on health care errors, fraud and abuse. The general public can utilize the Center for information about the services of Senior Medicare Patrol programs (SMPs) and how to access their local SMP.
