Overall, 86% of respondents reported they were “very satisfied or satisfied” with the TSP – a 5% increase from the 2008 survey, and a 1% increase from the 2006 survey.
The majority of respondents also rated the TSP's competitiveness as “well above or above” other employers’ retirement savings plans.
Respondents ranked the following as the top five reasons why they contribute to the TSP for retirement:
