Ride 2 Recovery

The USO partners with Ride 2 Recovery to help improve the health and wellness of wounded troops through Spinning® and outdoor cycling activities. The Ride 2 Recovery program is produced by the Fitness Challenge Foundation, an independent 501(C)(3), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs Voluntary Service Office, to benefit mental and physical rehabilitation programs that feature cycling as the core activity.

“R 2 R was one of the greatest experiences that I have had since getting out of the military. I made friends that I still keep in contact with. I had a great time sharing some laughs with the USO staff as well and couldn't have been any more impressed with the amount of food, support and help that they provided.”- Wounded Warrior

Warrior Games

The USO collaborates with the Department of Defense and the U.S. Olympic Committee to support the Warrior Games. These games are an annual competitive sporting event for more than 200 wounded, ill and injured athletes from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force and Special Operations Command. Each year, the USO proudly supports the Warrior Games athletes as they compete in seven competitive sports events held at the United States Olympic Committee in Colorado Springs, Colo. Since 2010, the U.S. Olympic Committee and U.S. Department of Defense have led the charge in demonstrating the critical role of athletics in the physical and emotional recovery of our heroes through the Warrior Games. The USO strongly supports this annual event for wounded warriors and their families, who richly deserve happiness and fulfillment.

“My husband and I want to thank all the people involved in the 2011 Warrior Games. Because of USO's participation, this event was one we will never forget. We watched with joy and amazement, our son compete along with the warrior athletes. Their wounds and injuries nonexistent for that week as they competed. They truly are an inspiration.”
