Large Taxpayer Audits

The objective of the Large Taxpayer Audit program is to ensure that those taxpayers with annual tax payments exceeding $250,000 are correctly determining and paying the tax that is owed. These relatively few taxpayers (less than 400 out of approximately 5000 total) are the source of the vast majority (approximately 99%) of all excise tax collected by TTB.
