The 2012 Leaders Emeritus Conference will be held on September 13, 2012, at the Headquarters, US Army Corps of Engineers, 441 G Street NW, Washington DC, 20314, Room 3M60.  Emeriti will have the opportunity to stay abreast of current initiatives and programs within USACE and the Engineer Regiment, meet with the 53rd Chief of Engineers, Lt. Gen. Thomas Bostick, and engage with current senior leaders within USACE.

More information will come as we get closer to the event.  We will post read-ahead products on this site about two weeks prior to the conference.

Thank you for staying involved in USACE and the Army community, and we look forward to seeing you at this year's event.

Update

Leaders Emeritus 2012 is fast approaching.  We look forward to seeing you here at Headquarters, Room 3M60.  The agenda starts at 8 a.m. with registration and continental breakfast, followed by a group picture and a day full of information sharing from our HQ leadership on a breadth of topics.

We have posted the read-ahead documents, agenda and Lt. Gen. Bostick’s priorities on this website.  This year’s content is organized to promote discussion around how our organization is poised to support his priorities.  Please take some time to download and skim through the briefings and information papers, as it will help stimulate discussion during our tightly-packed schedule.

Administrative Notes:

  • Arrival – Upon arrival, please enter the building through the G Street entrance and proceed to the security desk.  We have submitted all attendee information to assist in speedy processing.  You will still need to submit to a security screening.  The security process has not gotten any faster since you have left Headquarters, so please allow some time in the morning to process through the security area.  We will have an escort at the security desk to direct you to the elevators after clearing security.

  • Parking – There is extremely limited parking at the GAO building.  All available parking passes have already been distributed.  There are several daily parking areas surrounding the building.  The cheapest parking areas are to the north of our headquarters, on K Street between 7th Street and North Capitol St.  Street parking surrounding the headquarters building is limited to two hours, at a rate of $2.00 per hour.

  • Registration – We will have a registration table in front of Room 3M60/70.  At the table, we will collect fees to cover the breakfast and lunch, and also give you a name tag and tent card.

  • Seating – Selected attendees are seated with Lt. Gen. Bostick and Maj. Gen. Semonite, with the remainder of the room open for seating.

  • Refreshments – Breakfast and lunch will be buffet style. Breakfast will be continental, with fruits, pastries, coffee, juice and water. Coffee and water will be available throughout the day. Lunch will be buffet-style, with rolls, two choices of meat, and salad.

  • Engineer Memorabilia – The Army Engineer Spouses’ Association will have a table set up to sell Engineer memorabilia. The Castle Store, adjacent to 3M60/70, will also be open during lunch if you wish to buy clothing or gifts.

  • Problems – If you encounter any problems along the way, please contact the organizer, Maj. Jeff Hall, at 571-383-4020, or email
