The Sentry/Surveillance mission involves operating mission equipment, systems, electro-optical sensor systems, and electronic protection equipment so the Air Guard can:
  • Gather, record, display, and distribute mission information
  • Plan Missions, including close air support, interdiction, armed reconnaissance, combat search and rescue, and limited forward air control
  • Maintain communications with ground, air, and maritime units and monitors radio communications
  • Perform airborne operations functions under training and operational conditions and promote and instill situational awareness in all aspects of airborne operations
