Veterans’ Workforce Investment Program

The Veterans’ Workforce Investment Programs provides funds to assist Veterans experiencing homelessness in gaining meaningful employment through client-centered case management. Case managers work with Veterans in individual job counseling, connecting them to classroom or on the job training, skills upgrading and retraining, and placement assistance.

The Department of Labor is also placing emphasis on training Veterans for employment in the growing green jobs market, and case managers connect veterans to training opportunities within DOL for these new employment opportunities. This program aims to overcome the barriers to employment faced by Veterans experiencing homelessness or other challenges and facilitate their transition into the civilian workforce.
