The 10th Medical Group at the U.S. Air Force Academy provides healthcare services to 65,000 beneficiaries, including support to the 4,000-member cadet wing. Primary goals are to ensure wartime readiness and optimize the health and wellness of our current and future air and space leaders.

Patients who are unable to make scheduled appointments should contact the TriCare appointment line at 719-524-2273 (CARE) or at the clinic phone number listed below at least 24 hours in advance. This allows the 10th Medical Group to provide timely care to other beneficiaries.

Allergy and Immunizations: The allergy and immunizations clinic offers allergy shots Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:45 to 10:30 a.m. and from 12:30 to 3:45 p.m., and Fridays from 7:45 to 11 a.m. Vaccinations for yellow fever are given on the first Tuesday of every month from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuberculosis tests are administered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with results typically available two or three days later. Ambulatory Surgery: Provides pre-operative patient education and anesthesia screening, patient care during and after the operation and overnight services as needed. Common outpatient surgeries include arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery, carpal tunnel repair, cataract removal, tonsil and adenoid removal, sinus surgery and hernia removal. Phone: 719-333-5010

Audiology: Offers comprehensive hearing tests, auditory brainstem response, hearing aid repair by appointment for active-duty personnel only, and auditory processing disorder evaluation. Patients must be referred by their primary care manager. Phone: 719-333-4296

Beneficiary Services: Assists with and provides information on programs available to TriCare beneficiaries. Phone: 719-333-5597

Cardiology and Cardiopulmonary Clinic: Provides electrocardiograms, cardiac stress tests, 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, pulmonary functions tests and arterial blood gas puncture screenings. Phone: 719-333-5038

Chiropractic: Offers treatment to active-duty servicemembers only for mid- and low-back pain, sciatica, neck pain, rib pain, backache from pregnancy and more. No referral is required. Phone: 719-333-5582

Dental: Provides examinations, teeth cleaning, fillings, treatment for gum disease, root canals and ful or partial dentures and bridges. Phone: 719-333-5190

Dermatology: Conducts biopsies and excisions of benign and malignant skin lesions, phototherapy, cryosurgery, patch testing, cultures and laser treatment for non-cosmetic skin conditions. Phone: 719-333-5291

Family Practice: Offers scheduled appointments with primary care managers for regular health checkups, blood pressure checks, suture removal and throat cultures. PCMs may also reorder medication for prescriptions that have expired or changed. Phone: 719-457-2273

General Surgery: Services include hernia repair, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, thyroidectomies, breast biopsies and lumpectomies, simple mastectomies, colonoscopies and perirectal surgeries. Phone: 719-333-5140

Health and Wellness: Offers several fitness-related programs, including cycle ergometry, gait analysis, individual exercise plans and nutrition counseling, tobacco cessation class, nutrition programs and state of the art body composition analysis. Phone: 719-333-3733

Mental Health: Oversees the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Program, the Family Advocacy Office and the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. ADAPT provides education, prevention, outreach, assessment and treatment for those within the Academy community. Family Advocacy provides outreach services, prevention services and familyi maltreatment intervention. Opthamology: Provides eye examinations and treatment for cataracts, strabismus, corneal and oculoplastic disorders, laser treatment for glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy and laser vision correction for active-duty servicemembers. PCM referral required. Phone: 719-333-5146

Optometry: Offers routine eye examinations, contact lens exams, diabetic exams and visual fields testing. Phone: 719-333-5144 (primary clinic), 719-333-5189 (cadet clinic)

Oral Surgery: Conducts facial trauma repair, including care of oral tissues, the jaws, cheek and nasal bones, the forehead and eye sockets; benign and malignant tumor removal, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, relief for facial pain disorders and correction of bite deformities and birth defects. Orthopedics and Podiatry: Treats musculoskeletal system disorders, trauma and overuse injuries, degenerative and autoimmune joint disease, sports injuries, joint infections and hand-related problems. Treatments include diagnosis, conservative management and outpatient surgery. PCM referral required. Phone: 719-333-5041

Otolarynogology: Provides ear, nose and throat clinical services and surgeries and ear cleanings by appointment. PCM referral required. Phone: 719-333-5142

Pediatrics: Conducts well baby exams, immunizations and lab work as well as telephone consults. Phone: 719-333-5200

Pharmacy: Fills new and refill prescriptions. Pharmacies are located in the Air Force Academy Clinic, the cadet clinic and the community center. Phone: 719-333-5157 (Academy clinic), 719-333-5198 (cadet clinic), 719-333-5019 (community center)

Physical and Occupational Therapy: Provides outpatient therapy for musculoskeletal injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. PCM referral required. Phone: 719-333-3107

Radiology: Conducts CT scans, mammography, MRI, X-ray and ultrasound imaging by appointment. Patients may provide a blank CD if they wish to have copies of their diagnostic imaging. Phone: 719-333-5170

Refractive Surgery: Offers refractive eye surgery for Airmen assigned to aviation and aviation-related special duty career fields, personnel whose routine military duties require wear of night vision goggles, eye protection or respiratory protection, and other active-duty servicemembers and Guard and Reserve servicemembers on active-duty status. Women's Health: Provides OB/GYN care for eligible female beneficiaries. Phone: 719-333-5287
