On–Demand Webinar

Description

You've heard lots of buzz about APIs—but what exactly IS an API, and how can it help your agency share information and serve your customers? Wikipedia says "an application programming interface (API) is a source code based specification intended to be used as an interface by software components to communicate with each other."

Great, but that’s not a plain language explanation—what does that really mean?

Fortunately, we know the guy with the answer. Gray and his team at FCC are doing a lot of innovative work, including using APIs to offer customized content to their customers. He will give you a backstage tour of FCC’s new interactive, customizable web interface, my.fcc.gov.

What You'll Learn

This webinar will teach you:

  • An "APIs for Dummies" overview.
  • About the work FCC does with the developer community, how that work benefits the public, and reasons why your agency may want to follow FCC’s example
  • How FCC handled security and privacy issues when creating a customizable and personalized online experience.
