Fresno California Kidnap and Robbery Suspect Arrested

Fresno, CA – U.S. Marshal Albert Najera of the Eastern District of California announced today that the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Ricardo Covarrubia, a San Joaquin Bulldog Street Gang Member, of Kerman California; Covarrubia was wanted for kidnapping, robbery, burglary, and assault with a firearm.

On October 14, 2011 and October 19, 2011, Covarrubia allegedly committed an armed carjacking and robbery, and then a residential burglary, firing at the homeowner who came home during the burglary.

A warrant for kidnapping, robbery, burglary, and assault with a firearm, was issued by Fresno County Sheriff’s Office on October 19, 2011. The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office shortly thereafter asked for assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, in locating and apprehending Covarrubia. During the investigation, a possible location for Covarrubia was discovered, at which time Task Force Officers and Deputies began surveillance. During the surveillance, Covarrubia was identified as he arrived to the location and was taken into custody by Deputies and Task Force Officers.

The Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force is a U.S. Marshals-sponsored partnership comprised of investigators from federal, state, and local agencies.
