California Fugitive Wanted for Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested in New Mexico

Albuquerque, NM- On July 15, 2011 United States Marshals Service Deputies in the District of New Mexico arrested Anthony Deon Hodge. Hodge is wanted by the Bakersfield California Police Department on charges of attempted murder, shooting at an occupied motor vehicle, discharge of firearm from a vehicle at a person, and participating in a street gang.

 

Deputies in the Albuquerque office of the United States Marshals Service received information that Hodge was staying at a residence on Montgomery Street here in Albuquerque. On the morning of July 15, Deputies went to the address where they believed Hodge to be staying and arrested him without incident. Hodge was booked at the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center where he will wait extradition back to California.

 

Conrad Candelaria United States Marshal for New Mexico said, "When our federal, state and local officers assigned to our fugitive task force are called upon to apprehend a violent fugitive they do so in a quick, efficient and safe manner. This dangerous fugitive from California is an example of how a multitude of law enforcement agencies can work together to make our communities safer."
