Fugitive Task Force Arrests East Texas Sex Offender, Parole Violator in Caldwell Motel

AUSTIN, Texas – Calvin Henderson of Winona, TX was arrested early this morning without incident by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.  Henderson was arrested at approximately 6:30 a.m., in Caldwell, Texas in rural Burleson County.

Task Forces officers were made aware of Henderson’s presence by the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force in Tyler after information received in Tyler indicated Henderson had fled the Tyler area after he became aware of recent warrants for violating his requirement to register as a sex offender.  Henderson’s failure to comply with his registration requirement, a condition of parole after he was released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, subsequently caused state authorities to issue the parole warrant.

Task Force officers converged on a local motel where Henderson was hiding and was arrested a short time later after he attempted to depart his room as officers were awaiting in the area.    Henderson was in the company of a female and six children.

Henderson was transported to the Burleson County Detention Center in Caldwell pending his transfer to Smith County in Tyler, Texas.

Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas states, “The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force will continue to use the collective resources of our federal and local law enforcement partners to pursue fugitives and hold them to account for their actions.”
