DISA Civilian Completes 14-Month Voluntary Deployment in Afghanistan

DISA Windows Gold Disk Program Phased Out

The Defense Information Systems Agency's Windows Gold Disk project will be terminated Dec. 31, 2012. The last updated version of the tool will be released in October. Previous Gold Disk users will transition to enterprise-level security scanning solutions.

DISA and Army Achieve DoD Enterprise Email Milestone

The Defense Information Systems Agency and the Army announced today they have established accounts for 500,000 U.S. Army users of DoD Enterprise Email. This represents a major milestone towards transitioning all Army email users to the joint Defense enterprise service. Overall, approximately 520,000 people in the Department of Defense, including the Joint Staff, U.S. European Command, and DISA, have migrated to the enterprise service.

Joint Communication Simulation System (JCSS) to Release Version 12

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) will release version 12 of the Joint Communication Simulation System (JCSS) in mid-August. JCSS is the Joint Chiefs of Staff endorsed modeling and simulation tool for the warfighter. It provides communications planners and system analysts with the capability to validate support plans, analyze existing and proposed network architectures, and evaluate the performance of new devices and applications.
