Definition:

Under the direction of Colonel Ronald F. Taylor, the J1.1 Directorate is known as the Service Member and Family Care Directorate. The intent of the J1.1 is to integrate and synergize the Soldier, Airman, and Family care systems, in order to optimize efficiency, effectiveness, and easy access to care systems for our Guard and Family Members.

COL Ronald F. Taylor, Director

"History has shown that when you mobilize the National Guard you mobilize the nation. Our communities rally around our National Guard, our Service Members and our Families.

"The National Guard is key to our national defense. The South Carolina National Guard’s number one resource is our personnel, our charge is to take care of our personnel and the J1.1’s mission is just that, ‘Service Member and Family Care.’ "

Vision:

The vision of the J1.1 will combine all Soldier, Airman, and Family care programs under one functional area where any Service Member or their Family can simply contact the J1.1 and a referral can be made with immense efficiency.

Purpose and Scope:

The purpose of the J1.1 is to integrate the Service Member and Family care systems with the intent of optimized efficiency in providing help and the reduction of “at risk” tendencies in the South Carolina National Guard. The scope of the J1.1 encompasses all elements of the SCNG, Air and Army alike as well as their Families.
