Aircraft, hangar damaged in airfield mishap

10/2/2012 - U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- A T-53 Kadet 2 (Cirrus SR 20) aircraft was damaged when it crashed into a hangar upon landing at the Air Force Academy Airfield Oct. 1 at about 5:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.

Neither of the two crewmembers aboard suffered apparent injuries.

The hangar was damaged in addition to the aircraft.

The T-53 is a primary flight trainer aircraft assigned to the 306th Flying Training Group.

A board of officers will investigate the accident. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
