Transferring Your Credits

Build Off Your Prior Accomplishments

Tranfer Student

Getting a fresh start shouldn’t mean starting from scratch. We’re dedicated to helping transfer your eligible credits from accredited post-secondary institutions and applying them toward your continuing education.*

  1. Course challenge examinations

  2. Experiential learning demonstrating subject matter mastery through documented work experience

  3. Military credit for training or military occupational specialty

  4. Professional training/certification credit

  5. Standardized assessment score results (AP, CLEP, DSST)

The fine print: credit transfers* need to be completed no later than one session prior to the start date of the course(s) for which you want to earn credit, and once you're in your last session of your degree program, we cannot award advanced standing credit. Official transcripts and formal documents are required before evaluation of transfer credit can occur, and the source of credit must meet the established transfer credit criteria.

*Not all credits eligible to transfer. See the University's catalog regarding CTU's transfer credit policies.

Quality Standards

Get A Degree Worthy of the Work You’ve Done

Accreditation is the stamp of quality in the education you receive from an institution. It ensures that your degree can be recognized for the true achievement that it is and shows our students and public that we meet or exceed standards for curriculum, faculty, and fiscal responsibility. Colorado Technical University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (230 South LaSalle Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, Illinois 60604-1411). This independent corporation was founded in 1895 and is recognized by the US Department of Education and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation.
