Colonel David W. Bliesner is the Commander of the 341st Maintenance Group, Malmstrom Air Force Base, Mont. As commander, he is responsible for the maintenance support of 150 Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles and 15 Missile Alert Facilities. These ICBMs and MAFs are dispersed over a 13,800-square mile area.

Colonel Bliesner entered the Air Force through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, earning his commission in May, 1989. After his initial technical training, he reported to F. E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo., where he served in various missile operations and maintenance positions. He worked in space lift operations at Cape Canaveral Air Station, Fla., then served as wing executive officer before reporting to the Pentagon where he served on the Air Staff. Following Air Command and Staff College, he was reassigned to the Pentagon as a member of the Joint Staff. Returning to the field with assignments at F. E. Warren and Malmstrom Air Force Base, Colonel Bliesner was the last commander of the Nation's only Peacekeeper ICBM squadron and the 341st Operations Group Deputy Commander during the inactivation of the last Minuteman III B-System squadron. He attended the Naval War College in Newport, R.I., graduating in June, 2009. He then served as the headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command Chief of the Plans, Policy and Integration Division until August 2010 when he took command of the 576th Flight Test Squadron at Vandenberg AFB, Calif..
